Stevan Filipovic
Stevan Filipović is a film director, screenwriter and editor from Belgrade, Serbia.
His acclaimed first feature Shaitan's Warrior / Šejtanov ratnik (2006) was credited as the beginning of the New Serbian Cinema. The film won Grand Prix at Grossmann Fantasy Film Festival in Slovenia in 2006.
His next film Skinning / Šišanje (2010), a political drama about corruption and right-wing hooligans in Serbia, was the year's biggest domestic box office hit.
It won major awards on all Serbian film festivals, was screened at more than 20 international festivals, and was distributed in UK and Germany.
Stevan was the editor of Maja Miloš’s film Clip (2012), which won Rotterdam's Tiger Award. He also won annual Serbian FIPRESCI jury award for best editing in 2012.
In 2015, Stevan released his third film as writer/director, the ground-breaking commentary on Serbian youth, Pored Mene / Next to Me, receiving widespread international acclaim.
